Tuesdays and Thursdays: There is still time to join
the Easy Moves Cardio Class at 9:30 a.m. and the Balance and Movement
Class at 10:30 a.m. Each class lasts one hour. Call for cost and more
information.
March 21: Celebrate Spring Sweetheart Party (this is our Valentine’s Party that was postponed).
Seniors 50+ years of age are invited to join the
staff of the John Booth Senior Center for our “Americana: The Pirates
of Maryland” celebration on Wednesday, March 28.
From 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m., a lunch of New York Strip
steak and all the trimmings will be provided by Eating Together in
Baltimore and served at 11:30 a.m. Dress in costume and play games to
win prizes. Have your picture taken with Pirate Rich and Pirate Dog
‘One-eyed’ Sammy by the “Sailing Sloop Johnny B.” for a small donation.
Please call to make your reservation by March 22. Cost is $5 for John
Booth Senior Center Members; $7 for non-members.

Thursday, March 22: Video
exercise at 9:30 a.m., aerobics at 10:30, lunch at 11:30. The 12:30
movie is “Casino Royale” starring blonde Bond Daniel Craig.
Friday, March 23: Bingo begins at 1 p.m.
Monday, March 26: Video
exercise at 9:30 a.m., taxes by appointment beginning at 10 a.m.,
massage at 10 a.m. by appointment, cards at 10:30 and Eating Together
at 11:30.
Tuesday, March 27: the last
“Faith and Life” installment of this series begins at 10
a.m. Lunch is served at 11:30, computer classes are held from noon
until 3 p.m., the house council meets at 1 p.m., and yoga classes are
from 4:45 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday, March 28: Lunch is
served at 11:30 a.m., blood pressure checks begin at 12:15, the general
information meeting starts at 1 p.m. with guest speakers at 1:30.
Police Agent Maggie Duffy will discuss security measures and flim
flams; and Art Wynn from the State’s Attorney’s office to
talk about gangs and tags. Seniors are encouraged to attend this
informational program.
The Hatton Center is hosting a hometown tour on May 16 with the first
stop the American Visionary Art Museum, then head to McCormick and
Schmick’s for lunch, and finally off to the local hot glass
center for a hands-on glass blowing workshop. Bus leaves at 9:45 and
returns 4:30 at a cost of $49. This trip involves some walking. Bring
friends and family along for a fun day.
There are three weeks left for tax preparation so call for an appointment.

Senior Friendly Fridays are normally scheduled from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sign up in advance for activities like lunch.
On March 23 at 11 a.m., the Daytime Barbershop
Singers from the Heart of Maryland Chorus present a spring program.
Lunch at noon. At 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m., welcome the Charm City Band’s
music and celebrate the first anniversary of Senior Friendly Fridays.
At 3 p.m., join us for the Children’s Hour, an opportunity to work with
local children.
Classes in crafts, including flower arranging,
drawing and painting, are held Thursdays, 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at Virginia
S. Baker Recreation Center in Patterson Park, 2601 E. Baltimore Street.
Cost is $5 per person per class, and classes will be taught by Suzanne
Evans. Register by calling 410-522-5010.
