Friday afternoon Bingo, 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Cost $2 for six cards (extra cards available-3 for 25 cents), 20 plus games of bingo.
New class now forming: “Mind-ercise.” Monday and Friday mornings 10 a.m.-10:45 a.m. Keep your mind in shape as we exercise our memories. This activity is free to members.
Want to lose weight, firm up, have more energy and feel better? The Spring Fitness Contest runs through May 31. Equipment at John Booth includes a treadmill, stationary bicycle and Cardioglide. Prizes will be awarded for the most time logged on the equipment and in Laura’s Easy Cardio and Balance and Wellness Classes. Weighing-in is optional and will not be made public. All exercise must be done at the center in order to be counted for the contest.
Activities are as follows:
April 26: High Tea at the Conservatory with the Senior Division of Recreation and Parks. This is a red hat event.
May 2: Members Meeting. The John Booth Council has requested Councilmen D’Adamo and Kraft and Mr. Don Arnold of the Highlandtown Association come to talk about concerns of our members at 1:30 p.m. Free hot dogs at 12:30 p.m. Free ice cream after the concern meeting. Members of the community are invited.
May 3: Red Hatters to Vinny’s, Holabird Ave.
May 4: Possible Red Hatter Trip to the Flower Mart
May 5: Senior Division Strawberry Festival
May 9: Heritage Lunch Series: Poland
May 10: Sr. Div Day at the Races

Thursday, April 26: Video exercise at 9:30 a.m.; aerobics at 10:30, lunch at 11:30. The 12:30 movie is “The Pursuit of Happiness” starring Will Smith.
Friday, April 27: Bingo starts at 1 p.m.
Monday, April 30: At 9:30 a.m. and weather permitting we’ll begin our walking group. Otherwise we’ll stay indoors for our video exercise, cards at 10:30, and Eating Together at 11:30. Sign up now for a 12:30 p.m. origami class. Origami is the Japanese art of folding squares of paper into shapes.
Tuesday, May 1: Computer classes are held from noon until 3 p.m., the flower arranging class begins at 12:30 (filled) and yoga classes are from 4:45 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday May 2: Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. The Hatton Book Club will discuss “The Glass Castle” by Jeanette Walls at noon.
Members and friends should stop by to pick up a bus trip schedule, buy a Hatton T- shirt and sign up for the May 16 hometown tour.
Upcoming activities include a visit by Mayor Dixon and a three week series on gang activity given by the State’s Attorney’s office. Call for details.

Senior Friendly Fridays are normally scheduled from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sign up in advance for activities like lunch. Let staffers know if there are classes and programs seniors would like to attend.
On April 27, 11:30 a.m., Gloria and Ben Garrett will present meditation, music and line dancing. Lunch is at noon. At 12:30 p.m., there is Christian music from Scott Sharp, and at 3 p.m., the Children’s Hour begins.
