Wish List: The Maryland SPCA and the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter accept donations of everything from copy paper to clumping cat litter. Donations include kennel supplies (such as old blankets or towels to be used as bedding), pet supplies (dog and cat toys, collars and leashes) and office supplies (copy paper, printer cartidges, etc.). Book Bank: The International Book Bank donates bulk quantities of textbooks and children’s books to schools and libraries in developing countries. Adult volunteers are needed to help identify and sort a large shipment of library books in our warehouse. A great project for teachers, librarians, or anyone who loves books. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, wear close-toed shoes (no sandals, flip flops, etc.), and be able to lift book cartons occasionally. Tattoo: The U.S. Marines will perform a Twilight Tattoo Ceremony on July 29 at 6 p.m. The program begins with a concert by the U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, Silent Drill Team and Color Guard. The Fort McHenry Guard, representing the 1814 defenders of Baltimore will demonstrate battle tactics of the War of 1812 with cannon drill, musket exercises and a bayonet demonstration. Following the concert, the Marine Corps Silent Drill team will perform modern rifle exercises.
