Lenten Foods
First United Church, UCC, 1728 Eastern Avenue, has Lenten foods for carry-out on March 21. Cooked coddies are $1.75 each (6 for $10, 12 for $20). Large fried oysters are $2.50 each (6 for $13, 12 for $26). Pints of crab soup, German potato salad, cole slaw and macaroni shrimp salad are $4.50. A large piece of cinnamon cake is $2.50. To place orders, call 410-732-7644 and leave name, phone number and the items you wish to order. Have orders in by Wednesday evening of each week. Orders can be picked up on the order day between noon and 1 p.m.
Fr. Kolbe School in Canton’s Lenten foods sale continues through Wednesday, March 19. All foods must be ordered in advance. All food orders can be picked up between 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Kolbe Center, directly behind St. Casimir Church on O’Donnell Street. FRESHEST CATCH IN DUNDALK-The Lenten fish fry, held on Fridays by the Dundalk Knights of Columbus, 2111 Eilers Avenue, is a long-standing tradition, with diners coming in for fried pollock, fresh coleslaw and homemade Easter candy. Hours are noon-7 p.m. on Good Friday, March 21. $10 adults, $4 for under age 12, $11 carry-out. The kitchen crew, also known as the We Team, includes Bob Bichell, Connie and Joe Witomski, Ed Spallone, Jim Chachulski, Bob Puhlick, Robert Pollock, Joseph Cornish, Walt Walton and Jack Mack.

Sacred Heart of Mary Church will sell coddies and crabcakes during Lent. Order by 6 p.m. Tuesday for pickup on Friday. Coddies are $1.75 each, $18 a dozen; crabcakes are $5.50 each and $60 a dozen raw; add a quarter per for cooked. Macaroni salad, cole slaw, crab soup and oysters also available. Amazing Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2424 McElderry Street, has Holy Thursday services on March 20 with pot luck supper at 6 p.m.and foot washing and 7 p.m. On Good Friday, March 21, the Stations of the Cross walk begins at noon.
