Ag, Ag, Ag: The Maryland Department of Agriculture, 50 Harry S. Truman Pkwy. in Annapolis, holds an open house on Saturday, March 29, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Free Admission. Visitors can see the department’s insect collection, make slime in the State Chemist’s laboratory, enjoy a Maryland food and craft market, demonstrate their hog calling skills, take in a petting farm, milk a cow, ride a pony, and learn about the world of agriculture today through hands-on activities. Oh, The Horror: Horrorfind Weekend 9, a celebration of all things horror — books, movies and more — will be held March 28-30 at the UMUC Marriott Inn and Conference Center in Adelphi (near College Park). Women’s Health: Baltimore City offers free HPV vaccines, to help prevent cervical cancer, to girls and women ages 9-26, through its “Prevention Wednesday” program. Riots of ‘68:
The University of Baltimore hosts a three-day conference, “Baltimore ‘68: Riots and Rebirth” on April 3-5. Learn about the causes and effects of social unrest, and the efforts to revitalize the city in the months and decades that followed the April 1968 civil disturbances.
