Holiday Wreaths! Calendars! Federal Hill South South Garden Club has begun the sale of its holiday wreaths and its 2008 Garden Club calendar. The 20” wreaths will be made of high quality fresh mixed greens, complete with berries, pine cones and a red bow at the cost of $30 each. The 11”x17” FHS Garden Club wall calendars are now available as well, for $20 each.

Wish List: The Maryland SPCA and the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter accept donations of everything from copy paper to clumping cat litter. Donations include kennel supplies (such as old blankets or towels to be used as bedding), pet supplies (dog and cat toys, collars and leashes) and office supplies (copy paper, printer cartidges, etc.). Swann Park Community Meeting

Swann Park: There will be a community meeting on Monday, May 21, at 7 p.m. at Digital Harbor High School. At the meeting, city officials and a technical consultant will review plans for the environmental improvement of the Race Street facility site. They will also review the initial plans for Swann Park. The meeting will not include new information on the health risks of the park. The evaluation from the federal agency is expected in early June. More Info

With the closure of Swann Park, a number of sporting and recreational activities have had to be relocated. They are as follows:

Downtown Coed Softball League-Carroll Park

South Baltimore Bison Unlimited Baseball Team-Druid Hill and Carroll parks

Baltimore City Fire Department Lacrosse Team-Patterson Park (one remaining game)

SOBO Sports (Co-Ed Adult)-Carroll Park

BCRP’s Softball leagues-Carroll Park
