Robbery
Foster Avenue, 3100 block, June 29, 9:30 p.m. A man told police that two suspects approached him from behind. One put him in a choke hold and said, “This is for Day-Day.” The second suspect then went through his pockets and fled with some property. One of the suspects was known to the man; the other was described as wearing a Yankees cap.
S. Broadway, 100 block, June 28, 3 a.m. A man told police he had been standing in front of a convenience store when a second man approached him and asked him for $10. When the first man told him that he did not have the money, the suspect attacked him with a broken bottle, then ran off.
S. Broadway, 400 block, June 28, 2:20 a.m. A woman told police she was out walking when a group of men approached her and said, “Don’t resist.” One took her jewelry and purse and then both ran off. One man was later arrested.
E. Pratt Street, 2900 block, June 28, 11:14 p.m. Three men told police that they had been sitting on a park bench when two men shouted, “Police-get down on the ground and empty your pockets” at them. They then pulled guns and went through the men’s pockets, taking property, then ran off.
E. Lombard Street, 1000 block, June 26, 10:40 p.m. A man told police that he was out walking when a group of suspects on bicycles almost hit him. He yelled at them and then proceeded on his way. A short time later, a van pulled up and several people got out. A woman started screaming at him, “Why did you yell at my son and why did you hit my son?” They attacked him, stole some of his belongings and then fled. The woman was arrested a short time later.
S. Patterson Park Avenue, 400 block, June 25, 11:45 p.m. A man told police that he was asleep in the park and when a second man started going through his pockets. He tried to stop the suspect, who punched him. The suspect, a homeless man, was later arrested.
N. Lakewood Avenue, 100 block, June 23, 3:20 p.m. A man told police that he had just walked out of a store when three suspects stopped him and went through his pants, looking for property. They then fled without taking anything and were arrested a short time later and were found to have been involved with a robbery in the 200 block of S. Linwood Avenue shortly before.
Fait Avenue, 6800 block, June 21, 12:50 a.m. A man told police that he was stopped by a group of teens who told him, “Give us everything in your pockets and give us your cell phone.” They hit him on the head with a brick, causing him to fall, and then one struck him with a metal bucket. They then fled.
S. Kresson Street, unit block, June 21, 2 a.m. A woman told police that two men grabbed her and choked her, demanding money. When she had none, they grabbed her cell phone and ran away.
S. Broadway, 200 block, June 19, 4:45 a.m. A woman told police that she and her boyfriend had argued, and that he had grabbed her and taken her cell phone. The boyfriend was arrested.
Aggravated Assault
Lancaster Street, 1600 block, July 3, 11 a.m. A man told police that he was out walking when a second man approached him and threatened him with a knife. The man pushed away the suspect, sustaining cuts to his hands.
St. Helena Avenue, 6500 block, July 2, 4:15 p.m. A woman told police that her boyfriend had thrown a beer bottle at her head. A warrant was obtained for his arrest.
Bank Street, 1700 block, July 2, 10:17 p.m. A man told police that he had become involved in an argument with another man, who had stabbed him in the stomach, then fled.
N. Lakewood Avenue, 600 block, July 2, 9:05 p.m. A woman told police that her friend tried to cut her with a knife. The friend was arrested.
S. Broadway, 500 block, July 1, 8 p.m. A homeless man told police that he and a second man argued over a cigarette, and that the second man had attacked him and cut him on the hands.
S. Lakewood Avenue, 500 block, July 1, 12:25 a.m. A woman told police that as she was getting ready to go to bed, her boyfriend grabbed her and choked her until she almost lost consciousness. The boyfriend was arrested.
N. East Avenue, 500 block, July 1, 8:10 p.m. A man and his girlfriend got into an argument and the girlfriend pulled a butcher knife. She was arrested.
N. East Avenue, 400 block, June 30, 8:10 p.m. A woman told police that her husband hit her on the head with a phone. He was arrested.
S. Macon Street, 300 block, June 30, 6:30 p.m. A woman told police that during an argument, her boyfriend had choked her until she lost consciousness, and then fled. A warrant was obtained for his arrest. The man returned the following day while the woman was asleep and tried again to choke her, stating he would kill her. Another warrant was issued.
Esther Place, 3500 block, June 27, 12:30 a.m. A man and his wife were involved in an argument when he began choking her. She was able to get away and contact police, who arrested him.
Boston Street, 2700 block, June 27, 10 p.m. Two men approached a tow-truck driver in a parking lot to ask him whether he had towed their car. The driver told the men to check the sign, then got out of his vehicle and sprayed both men in the face with mace. He was arrested.
Brown Avenue, 6300 block, June 27, 1:32 a.m. A woman told police that her boyfriend had punched and choked her. He was arrested a short time later.
Fait Avenue, 3900 block, June 26, 4:12 p.m. A woman told police that she and her boyfriend had gotten into an argument and that he threatened to hit her with a 5-foot metal pole.
Burglary
S. Potomac Street, 900 block, July 3, 10:28 a.m. Someone forced open the front doors of three rented rooms and stole computer equipment, cash and electronics.
Hudson Street, 2900 block, July 2, 5:14 p.m. A woman told police that a man followed her own, followed her inside and, upon seeing her husband there, fled. The intruder was arrested a short time later.
S. Broadway, 700 block, July 2, 8 p.m. Someone broke the front glass of a store and took jewelry.
N. Curley Street, 100 block, July 2, 1:30 p.m. Someone forced open the door of a house and entered, taking electronic equipment.
N. Clinton Street, 400 block, July 2, 5:30 p.m. Someone forced open the rear window of a house and took electronic equipment. Earlier that day on the same block, someone forced open the bedroom window of a house and entered. Nothing was taken.
N. Belnord Avenue, 400 block, July 2, 8:30 a.m. Someone forced open the rear window of a house and entered, taking electronics.
S. Broadway, 400 block, July 1, 7 a.m. Someone forced open the front window of discount store, took clothing and fled.
Fleet Street, 1700 block, June 30, 9:40 a.m. Someone used a brick to break the front window of a building, then took various property and fled.
N. Lakewood Avenue, 600 block, June 29, 11:30 a.m. Someone kicked in the rear door of a house. When the owner ran down the stairs to investigate the commotion, the suspect fled.
N. Rose Street, 200 block, June 30, 9:42 p.m. A man who was running from the police forced open the door of a house, but was arrested.
N. Belnord Avenue, 400 block, June 28, 3:30 a.m. Someone entered a home through a front door and took a TV.
Orleans Street, 2700 block, June 28, 5:41 p.m. Someone forced open the rear window of a house and took electronics.
Fait Avenue, 3500 block, June 27, 2 p.m. Someone damaged the window of a house, but did not gain access.
N. Bouldin Street, 600 block, June 26, midnight. Someone broke into a home and took appliances.
Fleet Street, 1700 block, June 25, 3:14 a.m. Someone broke into a liquor store and took cigarettes, then fled.
S. Patterson Park Avenue, 400 block, June 25, 8 a.m. Someone pried open the door of an apartment, entered, then took an air conditioner.
E. Pratt Street, 1000 block, June 24, 10 p.m. Someone pried open the door of a house and stole cash, then fled.
N. Milton Avenue, 400 block, June 23, 10 p.m. Someone forced open the rear kitchen window of a house and entered, taking electronics.
N. Dallas Court, 200 block, June 20, 4 p.m. Someone entered an apartment through an unlocked window and took electronics.
N. Ann Street, unit block, June 19, 2 a.m. Someone forced the screen out of a window and entered a house, taking a computer and cell phone.
Boston Street, 2300 block, June 19, 6 p.m. Someone entered a home through an unlocked garage door and took a computer, phone and a mink coat.
