HOMICIDE
1800 block McHenry St., Monday, August 2, 1:45 p.m. Police found Theodore Corwin, age 30, inside his house, suffering from head injuries apparently caused by a blunt object. He was transported to Shock-Trauma but died on Saturday, Aug. 7 at 3:45 p.m. Police arrested Walter Kelly, Jr., 59, who witnesses said had chased Corwin into the house and attacked him there. Kelly was originally charged with attempted first degree murder, first and second degree assault and assault with a deadly weapon. When Corwin died Kelly was charged with murder.
ROBBERY
1600 block W. Lombard St., Sunday, Aug. 1, 2:30 a.m.: A man punched a woman in the face and knocked her to the ground, then stole her purse containing identification, credit cards and cash.
1000 block Sterrett St., Friday, Aug. 6, 7:55 p.m.: A man and his son were lured to the block by a Craigslist ad for a motorcycle for sale. The victim was talking to a man named “Tony” about the ad when another man arrived with a handgun and announced a stickup. The suspects escaped with the father’s wallet, $350 cash and a concealed-carry permit from Ohio.
400 block S. Carey St., Friday, Aug. 6, 11:35 a.m.: A woman told police she was trying to sell some clothing to a man who offered to pay with marijuana. She refused the payment and the suspect pushed her to the ground and stole her cell phone. Another man tried and failed to take her purse.
1200 block W. Pratt St., Friday, Aug. 6, 3:25 p.m.: A man tried to hold up a store with what looked like a submachine gun but suddenly fled without taking anything.
1200 block Sargeant St., Sunday, Aug. 8, 1:15 a.m.: A man crawled into a house through a window and tried to hit a woman with an iron. He fled after a struggle.
1100 block Covington St., Monday, Aug. 9, 12:15 a.m.: A man held up four men at gunpoint and stole four Sprint cell phones.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
500 block Washington Blvd., Sunday, Aug. 1, 1:15 a.m.: A man was arrested for hitting a woman in the head with a beer bottle.
Unit block W. West St., Sunday, Aug. 1, 1:55 a.m.: Two suspects were arrested for attacking a 20-year-old woman with a knife.
1200 block Lemmon St., Sunday, Aug. 1, 4 p.m.: A man was arrested for throwing rocks and bricks at a woman and hitting her in the head and knee.
1900 block Christian St., Monday, Aug. 2, 11:53 a.m.: A man slapped, choked and bit a woman. A warrant is out for his arrest.
1300 block Washington Blvd., Monday, Aug. 2, 6:20 a.m.: Police responded to a domestic disturbance in which a man punched a woman in the face and threw a shoe at her, striking her in the stomach; and the woman stabbed the man in the left shoulder. Police arrested both combatants.
1000 block Leadenhall St., Monday, Aug. 2, 8 p.m.: A teenaged girl was bitten in a fight.
1200 block Key Hwy., Wednesday, Aug. 4, 3:02 a.m.: A police officer saw a suspect climb into a car, and when the suspect saw the officer he accelerated and pushed the car’s owner out of the car. The suspect was arrested and the victim taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
500 block Washington Blvd., Friday, Aug. 6, 11:20 p.m.: A man was helping break up a bar fight when he was bitten on the right forearm, causing significant bleeding. The suspect was arrested.

1100 block W. Pratt St., Monday, Aug. 2, 2:55 a.m.: Someone tried to break into a house through the front door but failed.
800 block Washington Blvd., Tuesday, Aug. 3, 7:15 p.m.: Someone broke into a house under renovation and stole faucets and power tools.
300 block S. Stricker St., Saturday, Aug. 7, 8 p.m.: A woman saw a man wearing a mask cutting the screen on a rear window. The suspect fled without getting in the house.

300 block S. Monroe St., Wednesday, Aug. 4, 9 p.m.: Someone stole a 2000 Chevy Cavalier.
Unit block S. Calhoun St., Wednesday, Aug. 4, 10 p.m.: Someone stole a 2001 Hyundai XG300.

1700 block Light St., Sunday, Aug. 1, 2:47 a.m.: A woman was arrested for stealing a Coach bag containing wallet, camera, keys, checkbook, identification and cash from a bar counter.
1400 block Andre St., Sunday, Aug. 1, 4 p.m.: A man stole Red Sox and Yankees souvenir clothing.
200 block W. McComas St., Sunday, Aug. 1, 7 a.m.: Someone stole the rear tag from a parked car.
