Neighborhood Watch is representative sampling, not a comprehensive listing, of crimes reported to the Southeastern District of the Baltimore Police Department. This week’s Neighborhood Watch was compiled by Mary Helen Sprecher.

Aggravated Assault

E. Pratt Street, 1700 block, July 17, 6:20 p.m. Two men got into an argument and one hit the other in the face with a bottle of King Cobra, causing lacerations. The man could not speak to officers because he was drunk.

S. Central Avenue, 400 block, July 17, 5 p.m. A driver of the Charm City Circulator man told police that he stopped the vehicle, which awoke a man who was asleep there. The man took a can of pepper spray and sprayed the driver in the face, then fled.

E. Fairmount Avenue, 3300  block, July 15, 4:25 p.m. Police responded to a call of an armed suspect and the victim indicated two men and said they had been arguing with him, and that they had ordered him out of his car and pulled the gun and said, “If you don’t get out, I’m gonna bust you right here.” The man got out of his car and called police. The suspects were arrested and police confiscated their gun.

S. Newkirk Street, 500 block, July 16, 11:36 a.m. A man told police that he had seen a man and woman argue, and that the man had dragged the woman into a bar. Police found the couple, separated them and noticed that there was evidence the man had been thrown into the wall. The woman told officers the man, who was drunk, had been upset because she had talked to another man on the phone. She told police the man had thrown himself into the wall because he was afraid she would leave him. When police arrested the man, the woman became uncooperative, telling them she did not want him arrested. Police arrested him anyway.

Dundalk Avenue, 1700 block, July 15, 1:30 p.m. A woman told police her fiancee’s ex-girlfriend had come into her yard while she was hanging laundry, and had begun to threaten her. The confrontation turned physical and the ex-girlfriend tried to choke the victim, then fled. The victim was able to provide the woman’s name and a description to police.

S. Broadway, 500 block, July 15, 10:30 p.m. A man and woman were having an argument about a mutual friend when the man took exception to something she said and attacked her with a bottle,. He was arrested.

N. Luzerne Avenue, 100 block, July 11, 12:15 a.m. A man told police that he was drinking with his son. They began to argue and the son became loud and rude. The father took his son’s drink away and the son attacked him, beating and choking him repeatedly. When police located and arrested him, the son said, “I was drinking with my father and we were both drunk and I punched him in the face. He’s an ______”

S. Broadway, 100 block, July 10, 9:50 p.m. The box office clerk at an adult theater told police that three teenagers had pulled a knife on him after he refused them admission. Two of the teens were arrested.

N. Central Avenue, 100 block, July 12, 10:25 a.m. Two brothers got into an argument over custody of the keys to their front door. One picked up a yardstick and struck the other in the face, then fled. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Robbery

Eastern Avenue, 1400 block, July 16, 2:30 a.m. A man told police that he was out walking when he was approached by a man who ordered him to pull his wallet out, then got into a fight with him. The victim was stabbed twice, but the suspect did not take anything.

S. Conkling Street, 200 block, July 16, 5:30 a.m. A man told police that two men, one of whom he knew only as “J,” had said, “Come here, mother—–” then attacked him, stole $200 cash from him and fled.

Thames Street, 1600 block, July 15, 5:15 a.m. Two men, one of whom was described as black and transgender and dressed in pink shirt, scarf and pink hair (the other was not transgender and was described as black with dreads and dressed in a white tank, green shorts and a black watch), entered a convenience store and asked how much a bag of chips cost. They then apologized in advance, sprayed the employee with mace and grabbed 53 packs of Newports and fled.  Both suspects were positively identified by police and warrants were submitted.

McElderry Street, 3000 block, July 15, 2:20 a.m. A man told police that two men had entered his house while he was lying in bed watching TV. One struck him in the face with a gun and demanded, “Where’s the money and jewelry?” They fled with his cell phone and $174 cash.

Pulaski Street, 3000 block, July 15, 12:45 a.m. A man told police that two men had broken into his home and sprayed him with mace, then grabbed some electronic equipment and fled.

Claremont Avenue, 3700 block, July 13, 7 p.m. A man told police that he was at a liquor store with a friend when they saw a man and a woman following them. The two friends kept walking to one of the men’s house and found the suspects sitting on the steps. The woman asked if the men would make a sandwich for her and when the man complied, the suspects entered the house, shoved him to the floor and robbed him of his wallet containing $200 cash. Police found and arrested both suspects.

S. Eaton Street, 100 block, July 13, 12 p.m. A bank teller told police that a woman had approached her station and handed her a note on green paper, demanding money, no dye packs. The teller handed over some money and the woman fled.

E. Lombard Street, 2000 block, July 12, 3:34 p.m. A woman told police that two men, approximately age 20, had pushed her down and snatched her purse.

S. Regester Street, 200 block, July 11, 12:02 p.m. A woman told police that her boyfriend and she argued, and that he had slapped her and punched her in the face, then choked her and kicked her, and fled with her cell phone. A warrant and protective order have been obtained.

Burglary

N. Luzerne Avenue, 600 block, July 18, 8 p.m. Someone broke the window of a house and entered, taking a refrigerator, table saw and a roll of carpeting.

Fait Avenue, 3100 block, July 17, 10 a.m. Someone broke into a home through a rear kitchen door and took a backpack, clothing, DVD player and $1,000 cash.

N. Kenwood Avenue, 100 block, July 16, 1:55 p.m. Someone broke into a home through a kitchen window and stole electronics. Suspects were described to police.

E. Baltimore Street, 2100 block, July 16, 5:30 p.m. Someone broke into a home through an open window and took a bike, computer and change bank.

Eastern Avenue, 2200 block, July 15, 10:30 p.m. Someone broke into a home through unknown means and took tools, audio and recording equipment, Godiva vanilla and Capt. Morgan rum as well as other property.

Jefferson Street, 2700 block, July 15, 6:30 a.m. Someone broke into a home through a rear window and took a TV, DVD player, stereo and TV stand.
