SE Neighborhood Watch: Disorganized crime: Suspect grabs Sopranos DVDs, drops them while running away

Davon Jones, wanted for armed robbery

WANTED-Davon Jones (pictured, right) is wanted in connection with a robbery. He is described as a black male, 22 years old, 5’10” and 165 pounds and hangs around Southeast Baltimore, near Orleans Street or Belnord Avenue. This photo is a previous booking shot, and Jones’ hair may be different now. He may be armed; do not try to approach or detain him. Those who have seen Davon Jones or know of his whereabouts should contact Det. David Crites at 410-396-2429.

Robbery
E. Baltimore Street, 1800 block, June 5, 6:30 a.m. A man told police that he was walking home when a group of teenagers demanded money from him. When he refused, they attacked and beat him, then fled without taking anything.

S. Ann Street, unit block, June 5, 5:36 a.m. Police found a man lying on the street. He told them he had been sitting in the driver’s seat of his parked car with the window down when three young men approached him and asked, “You got any money?” He said, “No,” and they attacked him. He jumped out of his car and they continued beating him, grabbed his car keys and hit him with a ceramic flower pot, then ran away. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and his car was towed to the city yard for safekeeping.

Gusryan Street, 1200 block, June 5, 3:30 p.m. A man told police that he was out walking when four young men stopped him. They asked him, “You come by here?” and when he said that he did not, they attacked him and took his cell phone, then ran off.

S. Broadway, 400 block, June 4, 11:50 p.m. A man called police and told them that he had just seen a suspect who had robbed him less than a week before. The man was arrested and charged.

Imla Street, 1500 block, June 3, 8 p.m. A 13-year-old boy told police that he was playing soccer when two boys took his ball, then threatened him with a broken glass bottle while they searched his pockets. Police located the suspect, who admitted to the crime and was arrested.

Jefferson Street, 3000 block, June 2, 5:20 p.m. A man told police he was walking to church when three men approached him and asked him, “Are you affiliated with the Bloods?” The man told him he was not, and the others attacked him, then took $10 and his cell phone. One suspect was arrested.

Orleans Street, 2700 block, June 1, 8:30 p.m. A man told police that three males entered his store and robbed him and his wife of approximately $4,000 cash and property including two wallets, credit cards and other I.D.

Gough Street, 1700 block, May 29, 2:23 a.m. A man told police that he had just been robbed by a group of five men. Police caught and arrested four of them.

Aggravated Assault
Eastern Avenue, 4900 block, June 5, 12:51 a.m. Police went to the hospital to interview a man who told them he had been attacked and stabbed numerous times. The man told police that he was in a bar with a friend he knew only as “Julio” and was on his way to the rest room when he accidentally bumped into a man who was playing pool. The pool player started a fight with the man and Julio, who ran out of the bar, but not before being stabbed several times.

S. Lehigh Street, 400 block, June 4, 12:23 a.m. A man told police that he was shot at and that the suspects had driven off in a dark colored car. He told police he thought there was some sort of drug deal going on. Police found shell casings in the area.

Eastern Avenue, 1700 block, June 4, 1:27 a.m. A man told police that two suspects harassed him and his family, and that one of them brandished a knife and threatened to kill him. The suspects were arrested a short time later.

S. Lehigh Street, 600 block, May 31, 5:15 a.m. A man told police that after a night of drinking with his cousin, the two argued and fought while sitting out on the front steps. One sustained a head injury and was taken to the hospital, and the other fled.

E. Pratt Street, 1600 block, May 30, 3:05 p.m. Officers responded to the report of a bar fight and found one man covered with blood. It transpired that he had been attacked by six to eight other men who started a fight over the man’s nationality. One of the assailants was located and arrested.

S. Highland Avenue, 200 block, May 21, 9:47 p.m. A woman told police that her husband came home drunk and began accusing her of cheating on him, then began striking and choking her.

Burglary
S. Ellwood Avenue, unit block, June 5, 12:30 a.m. A man and woman woke up to find an intruder in their house. The intruder told them that he was drunk and that he needed a glass of water. When the woman got him one, the suspect fled. He had entered the home through an unlocked rear door.

Moyer Street, 2100 block, June 3, 11 p.m. Someone entered a home through a second floor rear window and took an mp3 player.

N. Ann Street, unit block, June 2, 11 a.m. Someone broke into a home through a rear first floor window and took two TVs and a purse containing $20 cash.

Tolna Street, 600 block, June 1, 6:05 a.m. A woman called police after seeing four men cut the lock off a shed. The suspects took three boxes of children’s toys and fled.

Larceny
Thames Street, 1600 block, june 4, 3:10 p.m. Someone stole DVDs of “The Sopranos” from a store, but dropped them in an alley while fleeing.

E. Pratt Street, 1500 block, June 3, 7 a.m. A woman told police that she was helping her children into her car when someone took her purse. She was able to provide the suspect’s name and address to police.
